Top 5 games worth your money this fall (part 4)

Marcus and Dom are back and this time around they're taking the fight to the Locust. The second game in the series will be available on November 7th, 2008 and if you thought the original was action packed, the sequel looks like it will put its predecessor to shame. Sporting new weapons like the Boomshield, Ink Grenade, and the Mulcher, you've got many more ways to essentially tear your enemies apart piece by piece in this game. One of the many things that sets Gears of War apart from other shooter games is that Gears is just downright raw and gritty action, how many other games can you use the chainsaw attached to your lancer machine gun to saw an enemy into nothing but bloody chunks...and the best part is that it just never ever gets old! Gears of War 2 also sports chainsaw duels where two people meet with the chainsaw revved they will lock saws and whomever can press the B button the quickest watches his enemy suffer an amazing gory fate. Another feature of the second game is the ability to use your downed enemies as shields to protect you from fire which means even in death the Locust will serve you a purpose.

The story in the second Gears revolves around the Locust finding ways to make giant emergence holes that can destroy entire cities. The COGs in last resort are taking the fight to the Locust, by using large machines that can drill holes deep into the underground tunnels of the Locust network of caves. You can expect more depth about the characters backgrounds in this game. So this November, if you're looking for some fast paced downright brutal gaming, look to Gear of War 2...a title that is sure to deliver for all us action junkies. Get a better insight into the characters, story and background of Gears 2 in a nice video here.

Rumor Time! Halo 4 for next Xbox? And not developed by Bungie?

Is the chief making a 4th appearance in the Halo Universe?

Halo 4...and developed by a company other than Bungie, is it possible? Back in February Gearbox's Randy Pitchford commented that the companies next game project was "Bigger than big"...well the people at OXM sent a couple of people into Gearbox to gather some info on the subject. They came back and with a huge rumor too, Gearbox is possibly making the next Halo project. Gearbox is a very seasoned and experienced creator of FPS games so it would be fitting. Bungie has no interest in making more Halo games and although it seemed that most story elements were all tied together and concluded nicely in the Xbox 360 game Halo 3, it still is a possibility. For more check out the official article by Joystiq.

Top 5 games worth your money this fall (part 3)

Game #3 in the list of top five worth your hard earned cash this fall is a game called Fallout 3. Fallout is set for release the 28th of October 2008 and is made by Bethesda, the same company that brought us the amazing game Oblivion(check the link for detailed maps and walk-throughs for Oblivion). However this time around for Bethesda the era is far from a medieval time frame. Fallout 3 is an action RPG game that takes place in the year 2277 in a post-apocalyptic United States. The world is barren and desolate and the character you play as begins his journey in a place called Vault 101, a fallout shelter in Washington, DC. One day you awaken to realize that your father has journeyed out into the wasteland for some unknown reason and you soon follow in search of him. You encounter many opposing organizations along the way as well as hideously mutated creatures.

Although the world is dangerous you will be well equipped with plenty of devastating weapons ranging from simple bolt-action rifles, machine guns, and flamethrowers to the ridiculously awesome looking "fatman" which is essentially a miniature nuke launcher...When playing the game allows you to go into a new type of free-aim mode where time stops while you target what part of your enemies body you want. Want a headshot? Easy....want that decomposing monster coming at you to have one less leg? No problem, possibilities are endless.

If the weapons weren't enough you also have a pet dog to assist you through the course of Fallout 3, your dog named funnily enough "Dogmeat" who can rummage through places in the world to find you ammo and other valuables, however if you're not careful and send Dogmeat into danger....he can die and then you're just dog-less. So treat Dogmeat well, keep him safe and he will be an invaluable asset to you throughout the game.

Fallout promises over 100 hours of gameplay,(not uncommon at all for Bethesda) with plenty of side-story quests to keep you busy. So in just a few weeks prepare for another incredible game that will keep you busy for many weeks. For a little more on Fallout 3 and a cool scene involving pickpocketing an NPC and planting a live grenade inside their inventory....check out a video here.

5 games worth your money this fall (part 2)

We now come to the number four game on the top 5 games to play this fall, Rock Band 2. This game is truly a social gaming dynamo, with the ability to play over 80 songs right off the bat initially and a vast library of downloadable tracks, Rock Band 2 can provide months of fun for a group of friends or even a solo player. One huge gaming innovation in the sequel is the ability to take all the songs from your original Rock Band game and import them to Rock Band 2, that's truly a brilliant idea by EA Games. And for all those players who just want to play along with some friends without the threat of being booed offstage, a new no-fail mode is available to keep the nonstop rock coming for hours. Check out a sweet trailer of Rock Band 2 here. Rock Band 2 also comes with some nice new instruments that address some of the issues of the originals, such as quieter drums with a stronger foot pedal and a better strum bar on the guitar.

You can check out a pic of the new instruments above. But in all honesty, if you own the original instruments from the first game and can deal with them its worth saving your money and just springing for the game. With a long list of tracks from many genres including....AC/DC “Let There Be Rock”, Billy Idol “White Wedding Pt. I”, Disturbed “Down with the Sickness”, and Foo Fighters “Everlong”, just to name a few. For a complete track list click here. Gamers also have the ability to go into freestyle drum mode and drum along with any music downloaded to their 360 hard drive. All in all, Rock Band 2 looks visually a lot like its predecessor but small changes to menus and other features have streamlined this into another amazing party game. And the best part is that Rock Band 2 is available NOW! So you can get to jamming with your friends right away, pick up your guitar, mic or drum sticks and let there be rock!

And if you feel like taking some time between sets on Rock Band 2, check out this hilarious video!

Top 5 Games worth your money this Fall (part 1)

With so many outstanding titles coming out this Fall, its hard to decide which ones to gbuy. Well I have put together a list of the 5 most interesting games being released in the next few months. Game #5 on the list is Dead Space, a title by EA being released on October 14th. This game was made to keep you on the edge of your seat, as a matter of fact it's said that Dead Space will make you jump about every minute you play, whether it be a pipe bursting in front of you or the eerie silence where all you hear is your breath and some creepy noises in the distance only to have it broken by a necromorph leaping out of the shadows at you.

You play as Isaac Clarke, a member of a space rescue team sent to investigate the ship, USS Ishimura with which all contact has been lost. Upon arriving you soon find that you'll truly be the one in need of rescue as you uncover truly eerie environments and nightmarish creatures that require precision aiming to sever their limbs...because otherwise they will keep coming at you relentlessly.... But don't just take my word for it, check out this video trailer for Dead Space and get a look for yourself. So if you want survival horror in its best, this October Dead Space will deliver.

September 22nd 2008- The beginning

Welcome to 360 News! this is the first post on this blog so thanks for viewing my page and keep coming back for updates and news. On a good note I just unlocked all 15 items on Fable 2 Pub Games!! All those boring spinnerbox tournaments and rapid A button pressing have paid off. But overall Pub Games is fun and its pretty revolutionary that you can merge your money (or debt!) to your Fable 2 character when the game is released on October 21st, 2008. So for anyone interested in buying Fable 2 when it is released should definitely check this out, its available to buy on the Xbox Live marketplace or if you preorder you can get a code to download the mini-games for free!
Heres a few sites to check out some nice wallpapers and videos on Fable 2...

News for Fable 2- NewsFable

Personally I'm very very excited about the release of Fable 2 as the original was one of my favorite xbox games to date. Lionhead and Molyneux seem to be delivering on many of the promises made for the original game and its shaping up to be an amazing experience. For anyone not familar with the setting of this game it is set 500 years after the first Fable in the land of Albion where you begin as a child who grows to shape the face of the world. Whether it be through good works and purity and self-sacrifice or through evil deeds and a desire for money by any means your choices affect the world around you and your very appearance!
